Scale is outpacing development capacity in Africa and the Gulf
South Africa’s energy regulator licensed just over 1 GW of new solar in July, part of a national pipeline now above 220 GW, roughly half of it paired with battery storage. In the Gulf, Abu Dhabi’s utility has recently closed financing on a 5.2 GW solar-plus-storage project engineered to deliver power around the clock.
Two very different markets, one common thread: scale is arriving faster than local development capacity in most places can absorb.
That gap is where an advisory and development-services model earns its place. A licence, a land position or a grid slot is a starting point, not a project.
Turning it into something financeable still needs local regulatory navigation, technical design and a network of capital and IPP partners willing to co-develop or acquire once early-stage risk is retired.
