Iberian wind consolidation is already under way
Acciona just closed the sale of a 361 MW Spanish wind portfolio to Galp for €432m — Galp’s second Spanish wind acquisition this year, after a 351 MW parcel from Plenium and Bankinter back in April.
That pace tells a story we’re living from the intermediary’s chair.
Iberian wind is entering its consolidation phase. Assets built in the 2000s and early 2010s are ageing into repowering windows, and buyers are underwriting that upside as part of the price, not as a bonus.
Running a clean process in that environment means more than finding one interested party. It means testing the market properly — multiple structures, multiple counterparties, priced on comparable terms — so the seller knows what “good” actually looks like before signing anything.
