A €432m Spanish wind sale signals where capital is going

Acciona just sold a 361 MW Spanish wind portfolio to Galp for €432 million — 15 operating parks, an average age of 21 years, and a clean, predictable cash flow story (energias-renovables.com, 27 Jul 2026).

That deal is a signal, not an outlier.

Capital is rotating away from development-stage solar and toward operating wind assets with visible, contracted returns. We’re seeing the same pattern across every process we run: buyers want certainty, and certainty has a price.

On the sell side, that means the technical file decides the outcome as much as the headline number — energy yield, layout, interconnection status, permitting maturity. We underwrite all of it in-house before a single term sheet goes out, because a buyer’s diligence team will find every weak assumption anyway.

It is also why we run these processes across markets rather than inside one. A portfolio that’s a marginal fit for one buyer in Iberia can be exactly what an infrastructure fund in the Gulf or a platform in Africa is underweight on.
