South Africa just approved 890 MW of new solar PV under REIPPPP Bid Window 7.3 — another reminder that in this market, competitive process is what turns a greenfield pipeline into steel in the ground.
We see the same dynamic every week on the M&A side of our business. A capacity-rich SPV rarely finds its best owner through a single phone call. It finds it through a structured process: qualified counterparties invited in parallel, a common information set, a defined timeline for non-binding offers, and terms that can actually survive diligence.
This week alone had us running exactly that kind of process on a live mandate — comparing offers, testing structure, and pushing toward a term sheet that works for both sides. It’s unglamorous work. It’s also the difference between a project that sells once, well, and one that gets shopped around for two years and loses value with every round.
Whether the asset sits in Iberia, the Gulf or Africa, the discipline is the same: know what you’re holding, know who should own it next, and run the process so the market proves out the price.
